FOR FAMILIES

The festival runs over Half Term and there are plenty of films for families to enjoy together. You could go for one of the ‘animated feasts’ to watch a collection of handpicked films, or choose from the programme of individual screenings – from a charming stop motion animation about friendship, to a comedy about the perils of believing everything you read on the internet. This link will take you straight to all of the family friendly screenings

BY GENRE

It’s giving…Drama on Saturday 21 October is a selection of films with a more serious tone exploring a range of themes. Set against the backdrop of war; exploring how young women assert their independence; a series of vignettes about a a group of disabled people challenge societal barriers. And The X to X + The Pink Pill screening and Q&A are two of the Festival’s biggest ‘ones to watch’ drama short films this year.

If you’re looking for something lighter, on the opening night of the Festival is a Late-Night Comedy screening, featuring police officers drawing straws to see who has to make an arrest, and a man who must destroy an artrwork in order to conceal his infidelities. Or indulge in a whole afternoon of laughs with It’s giving…Comedy on Sunday 22 October.

TOP PICKS

All of the films on show have been carefully curated from nearly 400 submissions, but if you are short on time and want to narrow down your options, the Top Picks Filter will take you to the films most highly regarded and reviewed during the judging and selection process. Or, attend the Winners’ Closing Screening on Friday 27 October for a back-to-back screening of the eight main category winners.
