The Sunrise Film Festival 2025 poster competition is now open for entries!
Competition details
We’re looking for talented artists and budding creatives based in East Anglia to design the official poster for the 2025 Sunrise Film Festival. One lucky design will be selected as the poster to become the face of our festival’s fourth edition and will be featured on printed adverts around Lowestoft, banners in the Marina Theatre (our festival’s home), the front cover of the festival’s printed programme, as well as other print and digital marketing materials and merchandise.
Be as creative as you like, but we’d especially love your design to include scenes of Lowestoft, such as the Marina Theatre, coastal imagery, a sunrise, or imagery that represents and champions the independent film industry.
Please also consider our festival colour scheme – designs which include orange, purple and pink tones are likely to fit best with our branding.
Submission requirements
- Please only submit an original design that has not been sold elsewhere or featured in other marketing materials.
- Your design must be in portrait orientation and at least A3 size.
- Submit your design digitally, via our Google submissions form linked on this page in either high resolution JPEG, PNG or PDF Print format.
- We will accept multiple submissions from a single artist.
- We will add ticket/website details (and if necessary our logo) on top of the design for the front page of the programme/printed posters so these aren’t needed within your designs.
Who can enter?
This competition is open to everyone of any age who are either living or studying in the East of England (Inc. Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire).
The deadline to submit is 5pm on Friday 28 February 2025.

Prizes
The winner will receive:
- Wide exposure, with the poster design, featured both in print and online, as well as being the front cover of our 2025 festival programme.
- An A3 framed high-res print of your design.
- Free passes to the 2025 Sunrise Film Festival and Awards Ceremony.
- A personal consultation with fine art printing service Studio 74 to produce a run of giclee prints of any piece of the winner’s own artwork, to the value of £100.
- A bundle of high-quality artist materials from White Dog Gallery.
Our short-listed designs submitted will also feature as part of a display during the festival.
