Seæ Within Yourself

Seæ Within Yourself

Fantasy, UK, 3mins “Seæ Within Yourself” is a micro short (3,15 min.) poetic surrealist film about a child’s spiritual education — Bildungsroman — received within their dreams. It establishes a topic of passing the torch from the older generation to the younger, particularly through poetry as an eternal song of the soul. In “Seæ Within Yourself” a young child sees and thus encounters a great Roman Poet Virgil in his dream, who acquires the role of his spiritual tutor. This film suggests and asks to develop a curiosity about the spiritual and mysterious since the earliest childhood, when a child’s fantasy is “predestined” to turn a person into a poet and to lead a child to be “guided” by the great figures of past, thus staying on the shoulder of giants, to broad the horizons. The film also suggests, in the words of a poet character Virgil, that there is not always a need to rationalize things that are hard to explain, but instead to indulge in mystery and mysticism of the phenomena and give illogical but inspirational and dreamy explanations to happening if fantasy suggests so.
