Man V Door

A foreman and a lowly grunt have trouble getting a door to work. The film was produced and completed in Philadelphia, PA, USA in October 2024, using modern 2D animation programs in conjunction with traditional paper animation. Man V Door runs just over three minutes and encapsulates the directors love of Disney produced shorts featuring the titular character Goofy. The piece provided is an ode to a set of those shorts known as the "Everyman Years" that run from the late 40s through the 50s. In those shorts Goofy takes on a working man persona and attempts to tame modernity. Man V Door connects with the same issues, but in the form of a stubborn door in a stark landscape representative of the world we live in today. This film further attempts to juxtapose the grotesque nature of modern life as it gets even more complicated in it's seeming simplification.
